Overview

This release delivers two major SmartDocs capabilities: importing Microsoft Word documents directly into the platform, and creating traceable cross-references between documents. Alongside these, it includes a broad set of stability and quality improvements across the document editor, the AI authoring and regulatory agents, PDF export, the mobile app, and the platform.

What's New

Import Microsoft Word documents

You can now import Microsoft Word (.docx) files directly into SmartDocs, extending file import beyond PDF. The importer preserves your document's structure, headings, tables, images, and formatting, so bringing existing Word-based manuals into the platform no longer means rebuilding them by hand. This release focused heavily on import fidelity, with document-wide page margins, numbered lists, heading levels, italic text, table header styling, and tab handling now carrying across accurately.

Link related content across documents

You can now create monitored links between SmartDocs, connecting a heading in one document to a related heading in another and optionally including its child sections. If a linked section later changes or breaks, SmartDocs flags it so authors know when referenced content is out of date. This extends the existing regulation-linking capability to work document-to-document, making it easier to keep interrelated manuals consistent.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

Document editor

  • Invisible header text — Fixed an issue where header text stayed white against a white background, making it invisible.

  • Font-size display for headings — The font-size dropdown now shows the correct size for each heading level instead of a single fixed value.

  • Concurrent editing — Fixed an issue where a document's cover page and frontmatter could disappear when several people edited it at the same time.

  • Comments in Safari — The comment icon now renders correctly in Safari.

  • Cover page selection — The cover page selection modal is now responsive, so its action buttons no longer render off-screen.

  • Document navigation — Fixed an issue where the back button stopped working for documents that required a second click to open.

  • Editing controls — Fixed an issue where the edit button could remain inactive in the document editor.

  • Publish confirmation — Improved the publish confirmation experience for a clearer, more predictable flow.

  • Image upload speed — Images are no longer re-fetched from the server immediately after upload, removing a visible delay.

  • Users page — Fixed an error that could appear when opening the Users page.

  • Document versions — Fixed an error that could occur when creating a new document version.

  • Document reprocessing — Fixed an issue where reprocessing a document could fail when SmartDocs is integrated with Centrik.

PDF export

  • Tab characters — Fixed an issue where PDF export dropped tab characters from the document.

AI authoring & regulatory agents

  • Chat history titles — Fixed an issue where older AI chat entries referencing other documents did not show a title in history.

  • Upload and convert — Fixed an issue where AI-assisted upload and convert could get stuck on "Please wait".

  • AI editing accuracy — Fixed an issue where the AI authoring agent could add or remove the wrong content nodes.

  • AI processing reliability — Fixed an issue where the AI agent could fail during processing.

  • Regulations agent links — Fixed an issue where the regulations agent was unable to create links.

  • IOSA regulations — Fixed an issue where IOSA regulations did not populate correctly.

Platform

  • Role display — Fixed an issue where a role's ID was shown instead of its name after a role was deleted.

  • Change request status — Fixed an issue where a document owner could not update the status of their own change request.

  • Report type options — Corrected the report type options shown to users.

Mobile

  • Adding to Downloads — Fixed an issue where a document that had previously been opened could not be added to Downloads.

  • Downloads list accuracy — Fixed an issue where the Downloads list could show outdated files after logging out and back in.
