SmartSuite Platform
1. Assignable System Admin and Document Manager Permissions
Extend the permissions system to support assignable System Admin and Document Manager permissions, making these configurable and assignable to any user-defined role or organizational unit rather than hardcoded to the system roles.
2. Bulk Permission Assignment for Document Types
Enable users to assign access rights for multiple document types at once through the SmartDocs permissions system, reducing time spent on permission configuration and minimizing errors at scale.

1. Editor Performance Optimization
Improved the document editor experience through performance monitoring and optimization to support large and very large documents. Users will notice significantly reduced document load times, and improved keyboard responsiveness.
2. PDF Ingestion Improvements
Enhanced PDF ingestion to better handle large documents and complex elements, including bulleted and numbered lists, document layout, table formatting, and images.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
Platform
Users can now successfully assign global custom roles to existing roles after fixing a blocking bug
Removed the mystery organization unit that was incorrectly appearing in the principals selection step
Images are now properly resolved during PDF exports, fixing a critical data loss issue
Resolved exceptions encountered during user creation and role assignment on dev and staging environments
Cleaned up orphaned actions that persisted after document deletion on staging
Unauthenticated users landing on SmartSuite URLs are now properly redirected to login instead of seeing an infinite loading screen
Strengthened Control Plane authentication by adding IP allow list and aud claim validation
Implemented configurable fetch logging in the Tenant Control Plane to enable easier debugging
Improved the bulk permission UI for better user experience and maintainability
SmartDocs
Addressed memory exhaustion issues during PDF export by implementing batched image processing instead of loading all images concurrently
Users can now create change requests for highlighted text after fixing a critical bug
The template agent now displays the final template correctly
Resolved compatibility issues with Gemini 2.5 Pro when thinking mode is disabled
Improved error handling for unknown template agent failures affecting AI Template Agent operations
Fixed rendering problems in the New Change Request modal on Safari browsers
Corrected a bug where the title chapter was duplicating after content searches in editor mode
Eliminated duplicate cover page entries that were appearing with each save click in FrontMatter sections
SmartSuite Mobile
Prevented preview crashes that could occur in AppManagerPreviewModifier when content changes
Fixed unwanted reanimation of CondensedSyncIndicator when switching between views
End-User Impacts
System Administrators and Document Managers now have the option of delegating administrative privileges which were previously tied to system roles to users by role and organization unit.
