Overview
This release focuses on audit log quality, sync reliability, and platform cohesion. The defect audit log now filters out action noise and improves version history presentation. A sync fix ensures resolved MX items are correctly reflected on iPad rather than leaving aircraft showing as unserviceable. SmartSuite single sign-on is now live — users with an active SmartSuite session are automatically signed in to Tech Log. The release also resolves a flight limit counting error for abandoned trips and a number of workpack, defect, and user account bugs reported by clients in May.
What's New
1. SmartSuite Single Sign-On
Users belonging to a SmartSuite-enabled operator are now automatically signed in to Tech Log when they already have an active SmartSuite session, whether they arrive via the Tech Log module tile inside SmartSuite or navigate directly to a Tech Log URL. No credential prompt is shown in either case. A Back to SmartSuite button has also been added to the top of the Tech Log sidebar, allowing users to return to SmartSuite in a single click without losing their place. The button is shown only for SmartSuite-enabled operators; Tech Log-only operators see no change. (TL-7760, TL-7758)
2. Defect Audit Log — Actions Removed, History Display Improved
The defect audit log tab now shows only the changes that matter for compliance and state tracking. Action create, edit, and delete events have been removed from the audit log view; they added noise and made it harder to scan for meaningful state changes. Action history continues to be captured in the backend and remains available for support purposes. (TL-7365)
Bug Fixes & Improvements
Sync Fixes
Resolved MX items remaining unserviceable on iPad: Fixed a root cause in the partial sync logic where releases that had not been updated since the last sync were excluded from the payload, even when directly linked to an MX event included in the same sync. This caused resolved items to remain unserviceable on iPad after a reinstall, data reset, or blocked-ID flush, and in some cases caused aircraft to show as Unserviceable incorrectly. (TL-7757)
Defects created on iPad failing to sync: Resolved a sync failure triggered by the iPad sending a
nullvalue forapproval_release_requiredon defects. Core now handles this gracefully rather than rejecting the sync request. (TL-7869)Sync error on RII inspection sign-off: Fixed a sync error occurring when signing off an RII inspection on a defect where no initial resolution was present on the release. (TL-7839)
Flight Limits & Defects
Flight limits incorrectly reduced on abandoned trips: Fixed an issue where abandoning a trip still counted as a completed flight, reducing defect flight limits even though no landing occurred. Core now correctly distinguishes abandoned trips and excludes them from flight limit calculations. (TL-6272)
Defect with an Action cannot be deleted: Resolved a long-standing issue where defects with linked actions returned a 422 error on delete. (TL-7774)
Defects linked directly to a deleted trip entry not visible on SRP: Fixed an issue where defects and releases linked directly to a trip (rather than to a flight) were hidden from the SRP after the trip entry was deleted. (TL-2650)
Status values in the defect audit log are now always presented in human-readable form — raw values such as
deferral_pendingare replaced with properly formatted equivalents. (TL-7859)
Web Dashboard Fixes
DDL/ADD page not loading: Resolved a page load failure on the Deferred Defect List (TL-7804)
Add User button visible for SSO operators outside org view: Fixed a UI issue where the Add User button was displayed on the user settings page for SSO-only operators when not in org view. (TL-7826)
Workpack delete confirmation showing wrong entity label: Fixed a long-standing issue where the workpack delete confirmation dialog incorrectly referred to the item being deleted as a defect. (TL-2682)
Public sign-off shows blank user in workpack history: Workpack version history now displays "Signed off via Public Sign-Off" in place of a blank user for CRS items signed off through the public MX workflow. (TL-3224)
Delete option shown on workpacks with linked resolutions: The delete option in the dashboard is no longer shown for workpacks that have any associated resolutions, preventing a confusing empty-screen error when users attempted to delete a signed-off workpack. (TL-6756)
Flight and trip version history now shows only the attributes that actually changed — hash-type fields such as preflight custom data no longer display unchanged values, and UUID keys are resolved to field names where possible, making it significantly easier to read what was edited on a given entry. (TL-7595, TL-7556, TL-7558)
