Overview
This release promotes custom flight numbers to a standard field across preflight and trips tables, and adds a new Aircraft Status filter on the Fleet page to make it easier to focus on the aircraft that matter day-to-day. The release also includes new operator configuration options, expands PDF report coverage with CRS deferral fields and brought/carried forward values on trip updates, and resolves a number of fuel, hydraulic, and CAMP sync bugs.
What's New
1. Custom Flight Numbers on Trip Logs
Many operators assign custom flight identifiers to their trips for dispatch, scheduling, and operational tracking purposes, whether that's a trip number from a scheduling system, a mission identifier, or a commercial flight number. These identifiers can now be captured and displayed as a standard field on Tech Log, rather than requiring custom field configuration as before. The previous custom field approach meant the value sat outside the core trip data model and was not consistently surfaced across surfaces.
Custom flight numbers are now an optional standard field that appears on the preflight, in the trips table on the web dashboard, and in the trips table on iPad. Operators currently capturing flight numbers via a custom field should contact TrustFlight to plan migration to the standard field. (TL-4950, TL-7286, TL-7304, TL-7366)
2. Aircraft Status Filter on Fleet Page
The Fleet page on the web dashboard now includes an Aircraft Status filter, making it easier to focus on the aircraft that matter day-to-day. Users can filter the Fleet view by any aircraft status, with the most common use case being to show only active aircraft and hide archived, demo, or otherwise inactive aircraft from the list, removing visual noise from the table without affecting the underlying data.
Filter selections now also persist across sessions, so a user's preferred view is preserved when they return to the page rather than resetting to the default each time. (TL-7331, TL-7701, TL-7702, TL-7756)
Bug Fixes & Improvements
New Operator Configuration Options
RII Required flag on defects: A defect can now be flagged as requiring a Required Inspection Item (RII) prior to being resolved from the Web Dashboard, ensuring the appropriate inspection workflow is followed before sign-off. (TL-7290, TL-7292, TL-7293)
Hide manual trip creation on iPad: A new operator setting, "Show add trip button on iPad", lets operators prevent pilots from creating trips manually on the device. The default remains enabled, so no operator behaviour changes unless the setting is updated. (TL-7457, TL-7510, TL-7495, TL-7496, TL-7497)
Split preflight flight crew controls: The single "Flight Crew on Preflight" setting has been split into two independent controls: one for PIC/SIC and one for PF/PM. Existing operator configurations are migrated automatically. (TL-7481, TL-7509, TL-7534, TL-7535, TL-7542, TL-7561)
PDF Report Enhancements
CRS deferral fields: PDF SRP output now includes the public CRS reference and the deferring company name for deferred defects, providing fuller compliance context on generated reports. (TL-7570, TL-7650, TL-7651, TL-7652)
Brought and Carried Forward fields on Trip Updates: PDF report templates now include brought-forward and carried-forward values for trip updates, complementing the equivalent trip-level fields shipped in March. (TL-7580)
Trip Update API Enhancements
Oil and fuel uplift values for Trip Updates are now exposed via the API, with new GET endpoints returning fluid and fuel uplift information for a trip update, flight, or maintenance check. API documentation has been updated accordingly. (TL-7350, TL-7493, TL-7494, TL-7575, TL-7576)
iPad Fixes
New flight trip fields clear when app syncs: Fixed a regression where newly entered flight trip data could be cleared during a background sync. (TL-7547)
Core & API Improvements
Defect drawer fails to render: Fixed an issue where the defect drawer would fail to load under certain configurations. (TL-7770)
Cannot publicly sign off defects: Resolved an issue that prevented public sign-off on defects. (TL-7600)
Hydraulic circuit on trip updates: Fixed inconsistent behaviour around hydraulic uplift entries on trip updates and improved validation and test coverage in this area. (TL-7695, TL-7672)
Trip attachments from iPad not showing in dashboard: Fixed an issue where trip attachments uploaded from the iPad were not appearing in the web dashboard view. (TL-7201)
Fuel discrepancy between JL/SRP and trip input: Resolved a discrepancy between fuel values logged on the journey log and SRP versus the values recorded on the trip. A rake task is included to correct invalid
aircraft_actual_upliftvalues, and the iPad now displays the ceiling of the value rather than truncating. (TL-7161, TL-7228, TL-7230)CAMP due list missing aircraft data: Fixed an issue where aircraft registration and serial number were missing from the CAMP integration's due list request. (TL-7676)
New aircraft model types: Added support for the Beechcraft 300 Super King Air 360 and the Embraer 170-200 (E170). (TL-7677, TL-7537)
Web Dashboard Fixes
Resolution details rendering in view mode: Fixed a UI issue where resolution details on a defect were displayed in blue (edit-mode styling) while in view mode. (TL-7616)
Incorrect toast on Fleet page view toggle: Fixed an issue where toggling the Fleet page view triggered a misleading "Logbook columns saved successfully" notification. (TL-7773)
End-User Impacts
iPad Users: Sync and trip data integrity bugs have been resolved. Users should update to v1.61.0.
Support Impacts
Operator settings: The new RII flag, "Show add trip button on iPad" toggle, and split preflight flight crew controls are all opt-in or non-disruptive by default. Existing operator configurations are preserved.
Custom Flight Numbers: Operators currently using a custom field to capture flight numbers should contact the TrustFlight support team to plan migration to the new standard field.
PDF Templates: Operators with custom PDF templates wishing to include CRS deferral details or trip update brought/carried forward values should request a template review.
