Overview
The September 2025 update for Centrik introduces Edit Locking, a comprehensive site-wide feature that prevents data loss from concurrent editing by multiple users. This release also delivers enhanced Smart Docs integration capabilities, significant performance optimizations for dashboard widgets and quality module charts, and improved PDF rendering infrastructure. Additionally, over 80 bug fixes address issues across Safety, Quality, Training, Regulations, Risk, Documents, and Registry modules, substantially improving system stability, usability, and regulatory compliance.
What's New
1. Edit Locking
Centrik now includes comprehensive edit locking functionality across the platform to prevent conflicts when multiple users attempt to edit the same record simultaneously. This feature addresses feedback from organizations experiencing data loss when the last person to save overwrites changes made by others.
How it works:
When a user begins editing a record, the system locks it for exclusive editing
Other users viewing the same record see a clear notification that it's being edited
Users can request edit access, which notifies the current editor
The system provides refined messaging when the same user attempts to edit in multiple browser tabs or windows
Edit locking has been implemented across multiple modules including workflows (sections, steps, and management of change), quality audits (sections and items), quality findings, and safety cases

End-User Impacts
Edit Locking: Users will now see notifications when another user is editing a record they're viewing. Users attempting to edit a locked record can request access, which will notify the current editor. This significantly reduces the risk of overwriting another user's work.
Users accessing taxonomy configuration pages in organizations with restricted firewall environments will no longer experience blocking errors when the ECCAIRS API is unavailable.
The "Contact Support" option has been temporarily disabled system-wide pending the helpdesk portal relaunch. Users should access support via the direct helpdesk URL provided in the updated documentation link.
Support Impacts
Support teams should be prepared to explain the new edit locking functionality to users who may be unfamiliar with the locked record notifications and request-to-edit workflow.
Note that the "Contact Support" in-app feature has been disabled; users should be directed to access support via https://helpdesk.trustflight.com/hc/en-gb
Documentation links throughout the application have been updated to point to the new TrustFlight helpdesk portal.
Notes
This release includes significant performance optimizations across dashboard widgets, quality module charts, and various list pages. Customers experiencing slow load times should see notable improvements.
The edit locking functionality currently covers workflows, audits, findings, and safety cases. Additional modules will receive edit locking in future releases as the feature continues to roll out across the platform.
SmartDocs integration capabilities have been enhanced with production-ready token generation and improved tenant configuration options.
ISM Edition 18 regulations have been imported and are available for customers requiring the updated ICAO safety management standards.
The new PDF service infrastructure provides enhanced reliability and monitoring capabilities for document generation throughout the system.
