Before scheduling the change to your system’s URL or site name, please review the following important considerations and action items:
1. Internal Communication
- Alias for Original URL:
To minimize disruption, the existing URL will be retained as an alias. This ensures that any distributed links or QR codes (including those shared outside your organization) will continue to function. - Responsibility for Internal Awareness:
It is the customer’s responsibility to communicate this change internally and ensure all relevant staff members are aware of the upcoming transition.
2. Single Sign-On (SSO) Configuration
- Customer Action Required:
If you are using OpenID for authentication, please ensure your configuration is updated to support the new domain prior to the scheduled switchover date. This includes registering any additional URIs associated with the new site URL.
3. Device Connectivity (EFB Devices)
- Reconfiguration Requirement:
EFB devices must be individually re-linked to the new site domain for seamless operation after the URL rename has been performed. While legacy access through the old URL will still be technically possible, email links sent by Centrik will use the new URL and will not launch the app unless the device has been reconfigured.
4. Pre-Change Confirmation Items - Customer
Please confirm the following prior to proceeding with the change:
- If SSO is in use, the new site URI must be registered in your OpenID setup.
- Confirm whether your default organisation name should be updated.
- Confirm whether your own website URL has also changed.
- Confirm whether the ADREP fields for Operator/Reporting Entity need to be updated as part of the site rename.
5. Confirmation and scheduling
Once the above items from Step 4 are confirmed agree a date for the switchover
